Write a critique of 3 to 4 pages (excluding the cover sheet and the reference page) in which you summarize, analyze, and respond to “Bad Friends” by Carlin Flora: https://aeon.co/essays/when-a-friendship-turns-sour-more-than-feelings-get-hurt
Your critique should include four sections:
- Introduction (one paragraph)
- Summary (one paragraph)
- Evaluation (several paragraphs)
- Response & Conclusion (one paragraph)
- The evaluation section must be supported by at least two regular quotes and two paraphrases from the article.
- You may use more regular quotes and/or paraphrases in your critique if you feel the need to. Remember that a summary does not include quotes.
- You must use APA in-text citations and include a reference page.
- Please refer to the to all the documents posted on iLearn and to your notes. The PowerPoint presentation and has all the important questions. Make sure your essay addresses all the applicable ones.
- The drafts (rough and final) must be typed and double-spaced using size 12 Times New Roman font (no bold, no italics please). Hand-written drafts are not accepted.
- Please include the word count at the end of the essay.
- The final draft is due on Wednesday, March 6, by 11:59 pm. Please upload your final draft onto Submissions.
This assignment is worth 20% of your final grade. 95 points will be on the final submission, and 5 points will be on the process.
Note: Failure to attend any of the process sessions and submit any of the process assignments will result in an immediate loss of 5 points:
- Tuesday, February 26: Process session – Class will meet in NAB 105
- Thursday, February 28: Process session – Bring your LAPTOPS to class
