Literature Review
A study that explored international postgraduate students’ expectations at a business school in Scotland. The study was of qualitative nature where semi structured interviews were used. It was found that students had high expectations and they had high expectations about job once they graduate. Their expectations are also underpinned the reputation f univeristu in getting students employed (Beloucif et.al, 2017)
There are several factors that make the international students choose New Zealand as a study destination. New Zealand near to Asia, less time duration of study and improving language skills are the common expectations of international students coming to New Zealand (McKinlay, 2002).
International students mainly expect to finish their study in the given time frame, enhance their language ability so that they have increase chances of getting a good job (Peterson, Briggs, Dreasher, Horner, & Nelson, 1999).
Quality Education and Teaching, socialization with local students, support from colleges and Universities seemed to be the common expectations among international students (East, 2001)

Primary Research
During this time period, most of the time was spend for meeting with my tutor and also with the library staffs. I have to get ethical approval to carry out data collection and I am waiting for it. The procedure for recruitment of participants was supposed to be through emails. But regrettably NMIT will not be able to grant access to the student’s email because of NMIT privacy concerns. I am planning to ask email addresses of students from Level 7 Applied Management and also from Level 8 Applied Management. Students from February and July intake of Level 7 and July and September intake of Level 8 Applied Management students will be considered. I assume that I will get fifty samples from approaching these students. Another way is requesting NMIT library or Enrolment staffs to put the link as public and requests participants to take part in survey that has completed not more than six months in NMIT as international student. The research questionnaire also has to be finalized after meeting with the tutor and pilot test to be done.
Emphasis Changes
Changes in Research Ethics Application
Method of recruiting the participant is changed from getting their details from NMIT Enrolment staffs. I will be going to approach students who have not completed more than six months and are studying in Level 7 and Level 8 Applied Management students.
Changes in Informed Consent
The inclusion criteria are changed to students who studied for not more than six months.
Other Information
The work done on this progress report is minimal. I had spent most of the time in finalizing the ways to recruit participants for my study. I have also tried to learn more about survey monkey and how to use it. I haven’t received my ethical approval yet and I need it to further go with my research.
