Final Negotiation Project and Oral Presentation

A negotiation project and an individual oral presentation are course requirements. In choosing a topic, understand that the core objective is to enable you to reach a better understanding of negotiation and/or dispute resolution concepts and strategies. The major objective of this exercise is to aid you in developing your own negotiating philosophy and approach to problem solving. Preferred topics are subjects in the real estate, business or construction management areas or in the application of a discipline such as economics, game theory or psychology to the negotiation process or an analysis of the negotiation dynamics of another society.

In addition, other topics may be proposed for consideration and approval. The typical negotiation project will layout a clear background, analyze the information and the “deal” and develop a concise presentation on the outcome, challenges, technique(s) used and what was the take away.

Writing

The mark of a professional is a lucid and effective writing style. Your writing should be clear, flowing and logical; and you should treat your topic systematically. If your negotiation project presentation is based on the research and writings of other authors, you should employ endnotes and a bibliography and credit other sources.
